April 10, 2002

This week I think God spoke something to me. It scares me. I almost do not want to write about it because then I have to look at it and not forget it.

He told me that He was going to prepare me for a challenge in my life coming up soon. I don't like that. But I'm gonna hold on to Him in whatever way I can.

Here's my verse this week:

1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness and into His marvelous light.

April 2, 2002

I love my girls from youth group! I have such great friends! My life is pretty much perfect right now! I have great friends, my family is amazing and I love my job! I have a plan for the rest of my life and I'm GOING to follow it. I'm going to start school in the fall at the community college (even though I'm only 16), I'm going to finish that in 2 years and then do 2 years at a university and then get my masters and then have a good job and then get married and then have kids and I'll work from home so I can raise my kids and they're gonna go to school and....maybe that's too much planning.

Anyway, right now, we're learning in small group that God uses challenges in people's lives to test us. Not for Him, cause He knows our heart and our devotion. But it's so that WE can see our heart. Interesting thought. I'll have to ponder it more.

We're memorizing a verse a week. Here's mine for this week:

1 Peter 1:18, 19
Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptable things like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish or spot.

Topic of this novel

I'm cheating a little bit with this....This is mostly a true story but it is about when I was 16. Emotions and actual things that happened might be different just because I either don't remember it, or I want a stronger emotion to come across. Also, this will be a journal entry type novel, and the dates are just kind of thrown out there...I remember the time of year that all this happened, just not the exact dates.

National Novel Writing Month

I'm trying this out....I have never written anything longer than 20 pages and that was a psychology project so we'll see if I can hit 50,000 words/175 pages by November 30. If not, I'll try to continue to write on this and create some kind of story. See you in 50,000 words!
